SMARTBOX Moves Headquarters to New Richmond Location

RICHMOND, Va., Feb. 13, 2006 – SMARTBOX, a leader in the portable self-storage industry that offers individuals and businesses affordable and convenient storage and moving solutions, today announces it has relocated its Richmond headquarters.

SMARTBOX’s new home is located at 2100 Dabney Road, where the company completed a three million dollar renovation of the former Colormark Printing building.

The location will double as the headquarters of the Richmond franchise – including housing customers’ stored belongings in its climate-controlled warehouse – and the national headquarters and national franchise support center. SMARTBOX also has franchises in New Orleans, Charlotte, N.C, Raleigh, N.C., Williamsburg/Newport News, Va., Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Va., and Fredericksburg, Va., and will be opening a franchise in Atlanta by the spring.

“We’ve come a long way since starting in 2004,” said Michael L. Lowe, the president and CEO of SMARTBOX. “Our new headquarters will allow us to continue that growth as we extend our reach across the United States.”

Customers contact SMARTBOX, which conveniently delivers its storage containers directly to their door. Users then pack and load their Smartboxes on their own time, and when they’re finished, they either keep the Smartboxes at their existing site or call SMARTBOX to pick the containers up to store at one of its secure, climate-controlled storage centers.
