SMARTBOX Opens Doors to Salvation Army
Portable storage, moving firm donates warehouse space to house Angel Tree program

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. November 27, 2007 – SMARTBOX West Palm Beach, a leader in the portable self storage and moving industry, is proud to announce it has donated warehouse space to The Salvation Army of Palm Beach County, which will use the space to store, stage and distribute gifts for its Angel Tree program.

Each holiday season, The Salvation Army attempts to locate a distribution center for its Angel Tree program that provides for about 1,300 families in Palm Beach County. With the Christmas season approaching, it was running short on time in finding about 25,000 square feet of space, ideally in kind. That’s when SMARTBOX’s Steve McCann picked up the phone and offered 20,000 square feet at its warehouse at 3900 Fiscal Court (Suite 700) in West Palm Beach.

“They were a lifesaver,” said Captain Stacie McWilliams, an area commander at The Salvation Army of Palm Beach County. “It’s a beautiful, clean and bright warehouse that is perfect for our Angel Tree program. We’re extremely grateful for the generosity of SMARTBOX.”

Added McCann, one of the owners of SMARTBOX: “This is a no-brainer for us. We have the space, and the opportunity to assist an organization that impacts the community as much as The Salvation Army does was too good to pass up. We’re honored to lend a hand this holiday season.”

SMARTBOX opened this fall and services areas from Boca Raton to Port St. Lucie and points in between. It offers individuals and businesses affordable and convenient storage and moving solutions. Customers contact SMARTBOX, which then delivers its more flexibly sized storage containers directly to their door. Users pack their Smartboxes according to their schedules, and when finished, they can either keep the Smartboxes at their existing site or call SMARTBOX to pick them up for storage at its climate-controlled storage center or delivery to another location – across town or across the country.
