2 Weeks before your move
Decide when to have your containers delivered so you can load as you pack.
Take your time instead of doing things in a hurry this time, start loading a week or so beforehand.
Start packing!
Keep boxes within their respective rooms if space permits
Label each box on the outside and make sure it makes it in its respective Smartbox container on moving day
Mark your boxes to be shipped with "Fragile", or "Load Last" stickers.
Drain your lawn mower, snow blower, power tools of all the oil and gasoline
Schedule appliance disconnection and preparation with a service provider
Back up all your computer files to an external hard-drive
1 Week before your move
Keep packing!
Confirm moving plans with your SMARTBOX representative
Empty, defrost and clean your refrigerator, freezer
Let them air out for at least 24 hours. A box of baking soda can help rid odors
Clean your stove and oven, and microwave oven if it is staying behind
Clean out cabinets and pantry
Clean counters, sinks and toilets
Give the house a final sweep or vacuum
